Position Summary:

Set up and clean banquet rooms and serve banquets.

Position Relationships:

  1. Reports to: Food and Beverage Managers
  2. Workers Supervised: None

 Responsibilities and Authorities (Performance Factors Used to Evaluate Employee):

  1. Performs related banquet set-up tasks.
  2. Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating them.
  3. Takes beverage orders and serves food in specified station.
  4. Pours and refills wine, coffee, water and other beverages served with and after the meal.
  5. Empties ashtrays and clears soiled dishes as needed.
  6. Cleans all assigned work areas in kitchen and banquet areas.
  7. Advises supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
  8. Assists in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for next function.
  9. Attends staff meetings including pre-service (line-up) sessions.
  10. Assures that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  11. Thanks members and guests; invites them to return.
  12. Consistently follows all sanitation-related requirements, including those related to personal hygiene.
  13. Demonstration of cooperation, interest, and enthusiasm in support of the club's mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives.
  14. Assures development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures which guide and support provisions of designated services.
  15. Demonstration of effective inter-disciplinary cooperation and assists with improvement in interdepartmental communications
  16. Performs essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  17. Performs other special, ad hoc duties as requested by the Food and Beverage Managers.

 Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  1. Potential for frequent interruptions
  2. Extended periods of walking.
  3. There is a potential for stressful situations and for long hours.

 Work Expectations

  1. Establish priorities, meet deadlines and handle competing tasks and demands.
  2. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  3. Maintain a high degree of professionalism.
  4. Flexible working schedule with an expectation of 40-45 hours per week minimum. Occasionally, additional work time is needed on weekends and holidays in addition to regular work schedule.
